[Television]
-Community season 1 and 2 (marathoned them, can't give individual ratings on all of them as my memory struggles and I didn't rate them there and then. However if the show was cancelled tomorrow I would rate the series a '10' as a whole, never before have I fallen in love with a show faster)

-Arrested Development, Season 1, Episode 2: Pilot [9/10]
-I also happen to catch the occasional episode of Veronica Mars on television (shut up I love that show), but it is my sixth. seven time watching them and there mostly playing the in the background while I'm online, wouldn't be fair to rate I feel

[Books]
-Still working on Game of Thrones, I know I'm terrible

[Thoughts]
I need to sit down and read that book, and why am I only now watching Arrested Development? It is great.

Just popping my head in and stating that I'll be following. And as for A Song Of Ice And Fire--I'm in a similar boat. I still have four-to-five hundred pages left to re-read of Clash Of Kings before April 1st. But don't you give up, the series is seriously fantastic. Especially A Storm Of Swords. It's easily the most satisfying read I've ever had.

Ha, that's about the highest degree I can inspire anyone!

I've only seen three films on that list, Strangers on a Train and Apocalypse Now I gave the exact same ratings as you did, but Atonement didn't tickle my fancy that much.

[Books]
-Read a couple of chapters of Game of Thrones, might have to just sit down and finish it one of these afternoons

[Thoughts]

The second half of March saw me close of my Richard Harrison marathon with the following films:

-Intrusion: Cambodia (1983) [4/10]
-Fireback (1983) [3/10]
-Acquasanta Joe (1971) [5/10]
-Vengeance [Joko invoca Dio... e muori] (1968) [8/10]
-Two Gladiators [I due gladiatori] (1964)

As you can see there wasn't a lot of fun to be had, both Intrusion and Fireback where Filipino action schlock made for American money, and very little of it apparently. Amateurishly put together the two are poor both on a technical level and a storytelling level, and worst of all they are boring.

Acquasanta Joe was an okay spaghetti western, but far too silly for my taste. I tend enjoy them with a little grit, so thank the powers that be for Vengeance a gritty, if a bit episodic, revenge tale of Harrison avenging his brothers death. Good spaghetti from Antonio Margheriti, best I've seen from Harrison.

The last, but by far the most disappointing was Two Gladiators. Starring both Harrison and Giuliano Gemma I had high hopes for this one, but it didn't come close to delivering, poorly put together with messy fight scenes, terrible stuff.

The rest of the films have been covered in the Academy Awards thread.

On the television front I continued my love affair with Arrested Development, this show is just amazing, clever comedy that just delivers time after time. So much makes sense now; all the "bring back Arrested Development" stuff, the high IMDb rating, so many references, why anyone would submit themselves to a comedy starring Will Arnett. I also now love Michael Cera for at least 15 new reasons (like I needed them).

Community delivered hands down the best episode of season 3 with Documentary Filmmaking: Redux.

And Bored to Death seemed to finally get on a track towards the end of season 1, delivering consistently funny episodes in a row. Now it remains to see if season 2 can continue this new intriguing trend. Also, I think you might like this one Rant, it is a "noir-otic comedy" (they coined the term, not me), it is a bit heavier on the neurotic comedy than the noir, but if you can stomach the former you might find yourself enjoying it. I know I am.

Finally, you might ask "but Rutledal why haven't you seen Arrested Development too?", well son it is because I decided that after delivering two seasons of pure genius the makers of Arrested Development had deserved my money and so I invested in a complete series box set. While waiting for it to make its way into my mailbox I decide to give another "cancelled too soon?"-cult comedy series a shot, namely Freaks and Geeks, and so far I'm loving it. Great characters, good comedy, quality stuff.

Arrested Development has been, and will continue to be, one of my all-time favorite shows. I got into it when Season One hit DVD and I've been a big fan ever since. In all three seasons there is not a single bad episode--in fact, there is almost not a single Un-Stellar one. I can't wait for "Season 4". I'll probably even re-subscribe to Netflix just so I don't have to wait for the DVDs.

As for Bored To Death, I've heard much the same that I'd love it from another pal-o-mine--so, I'll try squeeze in the first episode (at least), tonight and I'll let you know what I think.

And have you seen SPACED? If not, I think you'd LOVE it. It's probably the best show of its kind, and easily my favorite.

STEVE HOLT!

Me not own something by Edgar Wright, how you amuse me. But seriously I have the complete series DVD set and it has been one of my favourite shows ever since, only recently with Community and now Arrested Development it has been challenged for my all-time favourite comedy show. If you're feeling masochistic you should see of you can find the pilot for the US remake of Spaced...ugh.

Please, don't even mention that abomination (no I haven't seen it, I think it would sent me into a twiglet fuelled rage ) I'm a huge Spaced fan. One of my favourite quotes ever has to be: "Yeah but Jar Jar Binks makes the ewoks look like...fuckin'...Shaft."

Good to know you share the love. For me great TV is few and far between, but since you're such a big fan of AD and SPACED, looks like I may have to give Community a shot now as well...

As for my other favorites, have you seen: Archer, Clerks (Animated), Futurama, Penn & Teller's Bullshit!, [Scrubs] and/or The Venture Bros.? I'd also ask about Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm--but you'd be a fool not to have seen/bow-down-before those...

Oh, and I watched the first episode of Bored To Death, ahhhnd it was--OK. Nothing really special, I have to say... However, I love the premise and I'll at least finish out the first disc and let you know what I think then.

And I straight up refuse to tarnish my eyes with American Spaced. How dare you even suggest it.

I got two seasons of Futurama on DVD and I've seen almost, if not, all of the episodes in its initial run, but I haven't picked it up again after its return. Love the show though. I've seen almost every episode of [Scrubs]'s first 8 seasons, but dropped put a couple of episodes into season 9, it really came apart towards the end. Had they stopped at 5 or 6 seasons it might have been my all time favourite comedy show, loved it back in the day. I just watched a re-run of Seinfeld an hour ago, and I used to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm once it aired over here, but it dropped of the schedule and never pursued it off TV, good show though. The rest are unknown to me, at least as far has having seen them though. I have seen Penn & Teller Tell A Lie though, didn't care for it.

A taste of Archer

A taste of Clerks.

A taste of The Venture Bros.

Seek them out. You'll love 'em, I promise.
