Yes, most sequels are unneeded but that doesn't mean they won't be any good is my two cents. It mostly begs the "unnecessary" term if the sequel just fails to be anything more than a lame retread.

No, Terminator 2, greatest sequel ever, quite possibly better than the first, one of my favourite films of all time, but still unnecessary because the first one stands just as well alone without it and that is what defines the necessity of a sequel.

Does The Expendables need a sequel? No, and it is that easy.

I was literally just looking at the Expendables page and thinking about this issue. I'll get to it when I do the killcount updates. Hopefully tomorrow.

There seems to be a misunderstanding here, this thread is for mistakes in "Action Movie Breakdowns" not "Body Count Breakdowns", those have to be re-done by the complain-y and submitted in the thread for Body Count Breakdowns.
