Guess we'll find out.

That Total Recall video is really just the tip of the iceberg. You really need to watch the whole movie with it. It's glorious. Arnold should do more commentaries.

Yes he does. I was disappointed that Predators didn't herald us a new release Predator edition with Arnold commentary. Hopefully between Black Sands, EX2 and Last Stand we get something from him. EX2 should have commentary by Arnie, Sly and Willis.

I can totally see a MK Total Recall being you guys pointing out the things Arnie does in Austrian accents.

Anyway really fun podcast, if you're going to quote Bill Paxton, you really don't need to alter your voice at all though. :D

Great podcast. When you got to the part about one guy who hadn't seen Star Wars, i realized you were talking about me as was the only one who give them a rating. I have actually seen them, it just was a pretty long time ago, and i felt i didnt remember enough to give them a rating. I know i should get to rewatching them, but as the Blu-Rays is pretty expensive, and i am not that interested in rewatching it, i am probably not going to get it.

Enjoyed the podcast, of course, and I'm glad to hear Rant's returning to writing for the site. Glad to hear Rambo III getting some love, it's my favorite of the series.

Anyway, addressing some of the comments made during the review of the Top 100, I would to start by explaining the appeal of Taken (to me, at least, which I gave a 9). It's just incredible to see an action movie (from any decade) that's so focused on giving the audience what it wants. No CGI or special effects (or very, very little), no romance, no dumb subplots, no whiny, hipster sidekicks, no pointless comic relief, no hyper-shaky-cam (the camera does move a bit during the action, butnot that much), no extraneous dialgoue scenes, none of that bullshit. Taken is a swift, violent, badass, and short flick that all other action flicks should take notes on. On the subject of Duck, You Sucker (which I gave a 10), I just gotta say it's the best damn western movie ever made. I find that it's an electrifying film, with brilliant music, heartbreaking drama, and a message that I can honestly say changed my life. The flashbacks to Ireland were important because they drew parallels between Coburn's past and what he's going through now. Will he repeat the mistake that traumatized him and haunts him to this day? I could on and on about how DYS is one of the top 10 movies ever made, but I'll leave it at that.

And, yeah, of course I know who Styx are. I saw those badasses in concert.

Nice new podcast guys. No negative comments or suggestions for it. Keep it up.
You probably knew this but Speed 2 also dropped in rating.
Scott Speedman was fantastic in Good Neighbours.

As for movie knigths. Blade all the way.

Blade, huh? Hadn't even thought of it. Might be a good one though.

I'd do Blade II personally since most would argue that it has better fights and it's got the Donnie Yen and Ron Perlman factors going for it. ;) You guys could also talk about how the first two films nspired all of these techno-action thrillers of the early '00s cinema including cult classics like The Matrix & Equilibrium to the shitty Underworld and Resident Evil sagas. Maybe even discuss how it inspired a horrid third outing.

I'm sure we'll get to those... I generally wouldn't want to do a sequel unless we'd already done the original.

Great to hear another podcast.

Top 5 Franchise F-ups (PG-13 in honour of Exp2) (and as usual all your picks have been sidelined)
5. American Ninja 3 through 5: Each one drops the ball in its own way. Part 3; Bradley should never have been brought in, James should have been the star. Also, too silly. Part 4; Who thought playing this one serious was a good idea? Part 5; This one shouldn't even count, it is a kids movie, a melon farmer kids movie.
4. Escape from LA: I know you love it, but I don't care for this one. It has some moments and the ending is really good, but I believe the reception of this killed the possibility of a third one.
3. Spider-Man 3: I enjoy this movie, but it killed Raimi's franchise and as such is a screw up.
2. Highlander 3: Rumoured to be titled Highlander: The Apology this movie should have delivered more than a half bottomed remake of the first film. If it hadn't been for the show the series would have died here.
1. Highlander: Source: This should have been a new beginning for the series, an opportunity to reboot itself or at least bring an end to it and have Duncan win the prize, but instead we got some low-budget bull crap shot in Eastern Europe with worse continuity than part 2. What should have been a new beginning or a last hurrah became the biggest possible middle finger to the fans.

As for movie knights: Total Recall.

Oh, I disagree so much with your opinions on Death Wish V (and, to a far lesser extent, RoboCop 3). DW5 may have less of a body count than the top-notch third and fourth movies, but it makes all the kills count (most of them are novelty kills, with methods of execution ranging from poisoned food to random meat grinders in a clothes factory) and it really feels like the series is trying to go back to its low-key, relatively realistic roots while, at the same time, being laughably campy at times. It's still the second-worst of the series (after DW2), it's sooooooooooooooo much more better than a lot of crap that gets released. Speaking of RoboCop 3, I liked it more than the repugnant (yet still mildly entertaining) second entry. Sure, the robot ninjas, or whatever the Hell they were, sucked, but the movie had a great story (possibly the best of the series). RoboCop has to choose between his loyalty to his fellow police officers and following his own morals and protecting the people he's supposed to. Yeah, the execution is far from perfect, but that basic plot outline gets the movie pretty far, in my opinion.

Anyway, for my top 5:
5. Sabata films - I don't care which one, they're all pretty weak.
4. The Spiders: Part II - The Diamond Ship - The first one (The Spiders: Part I - The Golden Lake) is a criminally-underseen action/adventure classic and landmark, but the second one, horrendously edited and plotted, killed all my interest in the series (even though the third and fourth ones were never made, I just don't care).
3. Bourne Supremacy - Terrible, plotless mess that really made me dread the third one (which turned out to be a bit better).
2. Ong-Bak 2 - Ugh, such a terrible piece of dogshit. I probably won't bother with Ong-Bak 3 anytime soon.
1. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - I've bitched and whined about the second two films of this franchise (I liked the first one) enough, so I'll spare you the rant.
