Has anyone but me read the books or seen the show?

Yesterday Dinklage followed through and won the Globe as well, and in a fitting twist I today finished season 1 too. I started watching on TV, but after 2 episodes I was hooked and during Friday I mysteriously acquired the remaining episodes and viewed them in rapid succession. This is now tied for best show on TV for me and I can't wait for the next season. I'm also looking into loaning the first book of the series at my library, so I may join Rant in the literacy corner.

Also, it should be noted that I am not a fan of fantasy, so for this show to get me to rent and read a 900 page fantasy book is quite the feat indeed.

This was AWESOME. Fantastic characters, Ned Stark, Jon Snow, Arya, Tyrion Lannister, Hodor!, Robb, King Robert, Deanerys, all fantastic. The Lannisters are utter cunts. Never have I hated fictional characters to the point where I nearly kicked a child in the head for resembling Joffrey.

I've been very tempted to wiki the plot descriptions of the other books, including why 'the Red Wedding' is so infamous, but I stayed strong. Though I did keep tabs on Jon Snow and lets say I'm frustrated by vagaries.

Oh, dear friend. Do yourself a favor and just read the books. 'The Red Wedding' is a HUGE event and it would be a crime to kill the build up for it. And while their length may seem intimidating, the books read like lightning.

SEASON 2!

Anyone else catch the premier, last night? Well, I did and it was pretty damn good. A couple of scenes surprised me, as they took a couple characters down a path that they do not travel in the novels--but I can see why the adaptations chose to do so, as the books follow only certain character's perspectives and for those that never received their own, it's necessary to flesh them out on-screen. So, I have no whiny fanatical complaints. And I have to admit, I thought the trailer for the episodes to come was even better than the episode. I found myself giddy just seeing Davos and Melisandre together in that little row-boat... Oh, man I can't wait to see that scene play out on screen.
