 You make it sound like that's a huge genre with a ton of movies. There's what? Four movies involving both Ninjas and Cowboys?

I like Red Sun and the proper name for that genre is actually "East-Meets-West" and not since Rush Hour, American Yakuza or Black Rain have I seen one in that genre worth watching.

Isn't Godzilla vs. King Kong technically "East-meets-West"?
Or American Ninja?

Whatever.

The Warrior's Way will definitely be enough to get this guy a page (about 60 ninjas in the trailer... I assume he killed at least a bunch).

Yeah, I think those count. Funny how I never thought of GVKK because both monsters have been portrayed by both America and Japan so many times in their own continuity.

Yeah and I think it was supposed to be PG-13 at first but nope a hardcore R. Plus, it looks very good and I'm glad that the CGI for the blood effects is being well handled because with Expendables and LOTR being the exception, I've always hated CGI blood. It looks too exaggerated and just often ruins the mood especially with all these Horror films; it just kills their suspense and isn't scary because it looks too damn fake.

I actually kind of liked the CGI blood in Ninja Assassin, where it was completely over-the-top, and I think The Warrior's Way is going to be a similar type of movie.

Updated big time. I'm so happy to know that he made it. If someone can do a killcount for either Warrior's Way or Brotherhood of War, I would be in your debt. I suggest the former overall though since war movies tend to be difficult to do without the use of slow motion.

I felt like they rushed the entire production of Assassin. You know there's something wrong when the only good fight scene in the film is the finale and the rest is fake as hell.

I didn't care for the CGI in Warrior's Way either but it at least felt genuine for it's universe and I would be lying if I said there wasn't some fun to be had with that flick. All the actors hammed it up, the soundtrack kicked tremendous ass and I only hope that that Dong-Gun gets more work in the states.

However, please note that most of his stunts are a CGI double which is a shame given his physicality and previous work but it's still worth a watch.

I was strolling through the forums when I noticed this thread... remembered that Jang Dong Gun was in one of the many underseen movies I've counted for last year (back when we still have D-days) so I looked back and found this:

Two kills in The Promise
