Well, kinda. Remember that scene in Die Hard, where he shoots out the guy's legs and he falls neck-first onto a broken pane of glass? Something like that happens.

We won’t see shit, but we’ll get the impression of the fight scene and everyone’s happy. Well, I don’t think so. I’m not a big fan of the way they film action in the Bourne films, or The Dark Knight for that matter."

Sorry, I think you misunderstood me. I have seen the movie and I know the scene you're referring to, It's the bit where Iko pulls the guys neck onto the broken door, right? but what I meant was, I'd heard that in the Indonesian cut, you see a thug chop a cop's head off with a machete.

Not to offend anybody, but: Who the fuck cares if there's like 10 seconds left in a 100 minute action movie which is STILL gonna be 10 times more brutal than your average DTV-actioner?

True, I would prefer if those scenes were left in, but you're right, I can live without it.

I really does depend on how it's done. If a film's cut well then it's not an issue. But I've seen some atrocious censorship in the past, stuff where the jarring cuts actually make watching the film a chore. And then you've got films like Eraser, which is actually three and a half minutes shorter in the UK because of the censorship. I wouldn't mind if it was just done for the cinema, but when they start doing that to home video releases as well it really annoys me. It's like I'm not getting the film I'm paying for.

I completely agree, but in the case of The Raid, it's edited around quite well. I had no idea anything was missing until I read about it. I did wonder why there were four bodies on the floor when the crime boss only shot three, though.

All you need to know is this: The Raid is fucking awesome. And I double-dare you to see it in theaters. Because this has to be one of the best damn action movies I've ever seen. Slow build-up, followed by 70 minutes of nonstop balls-to-the-wall head-chopping bone-cracking ten-stories-deep-falling fucking madness! I'm still stunned, I an't even tell you what my favorite scene was cause this movie is just... sublime.

Great to have you back, Phil. I can't believe I forgot to mention this and I know not a lot was missing from the cut version, but moviecensorship.com claims the blu-ray will be uncut :D

That's the blu-ray steelbook cover I posted up there by the way, that one is exclusive to play.com though.
