I really like each Punisher movie, but they all have their flaws that can really hold them back. My favorite is definitely the Dolph Lundgren 'Punisher', but the main issue is that it's not much like the comics at all except for the general background of Frank Castle. I really enjoyed the 2004 'Punisher' (saw it in theaters), despite that the death of Travolta with the exploding cars making out the skull was REALLY cheesey and the final shootout was just too short. Nevertheless, the action and closeness to the comic was what made 'War Zone' so entertaining; I gotta say though that Lexi Alexander isn't a very good director and, while is it very fun to watch, the final shootout doesn't really have much of a flow to it. That and some of the acting+dialogue was weak.
With any luck, Marvel can do some real justice to this new adaptation and not leave anything out. Maybe follow the original storyline of him breaking out of prison and such.
I agree with you. None have really been to close to the comics. Just dont like how they try to humanize him so much. And i hated the entire sub-plot in War Zone whit the accidental killing of the undercover agent and his family. And the bad guys in it were awful.
