Pretty cool to hear how some of the names are actually pronounced... For years I always pronounced Catelyn (Cat-Lin) as Kate-Lin, in my head. Despite that she is sometimes called Cat. And Cerci (Sir-Say) was always Sir-Sea to me. It'll be weird trying to switch those around in my mind...

So, does anyone else claim this series to be their (or at least, among their) favorite fantasy series?
As it is mine, I'm naturally both very guarded and also, very eager to see this adaptation. I am, however, going to go ahead and predict a Golden Globe nomination for Peter Dinklage. I wonder if a little person has ever won for Best Supporting (or whatever the Globes equivalent is)...

I'm up for it. I've never read any of those novels but since the Fantasy genre has been in the shitter for some time, I think it will make a nice comeback courtesy of BBC and HBO.

Thanks for sharing.

I have never actually heard of it. Is it American or English?

The book series is called 'A Song Of Ice And Fire'
1. A Game Of Thrones
2. A Clash Of Kings
3. A Storm Of Swords
4. A Feast For Crows
(Not Yet Released)
5. A Dance With Dragons
6. The Winds Of Winter
7. A Dream Of Spring

It's written by American Sci-Fi, Fantasy author, George R.R. Martin and it's the best book series I've ever read. If you dig fantasy, do yourself a favor and pick up the first book.

So, anyone seen the first episode? I never read the books, but found it to be pretty good.

I will rent/buy it on DVD when it's made available. I don't have HBO and it's not showing on BBC America at the moment plus I have so much of their stuff that I'm already keeping up with (Luther, The Pacific, Boardwalk Empire,i.e.) so I'll wait.

I could tell that it was going to be quite an impressive series though.

I dont have HBO and any of those channels either. I watch tv-series online. Buying the DVDs when they come out.

Dinklage just got an Emmy nomination so there's that, although last year 0 of the Best Supporting Actor nominees at the Emmy's made it to the Globes.
