I would be in agreement had The Shield not come out with an outstanding final season the year before this 4th season as well as there being many other outstanding shows before this show was even conjured up (The Wire comes to mind; no sane person can argue with that.
How is that fucking relevant? Both those shows went off the air in 2008, Dexter season 4 aired in 2009, how can those be relevant in what was the best show on the air in 2009 when they weren't on the fucking air in 2009? I would agree that The Wire was the best show on TV in the period 2002-2007, but in 2009 it would be impossible for it to be the best show on TV due to not being on TV.

Also, you're also acting like this is Lithgow's only good performance of the 2000s.
No, not at all. I have never said anything like that at all. I said it was his
best performance of the 2000s.

Best performance of this entire century so far?? Don't make me laugh . . . Yes, I saw a performance of his segment on the Emmys but while skyrocketing outstanding, it was not the best of all time.
Okay, do you even understand how words work? "the 2000s" refers to the period 2000-2009, a ten year period or a decade if you prefer, not the 21st century. I believe he gave the best performance of any actor on television in the timespan 2000-2009, the first decade of the 21st century, not of all time, that is why I never said that.
