Alright, as some of you know, I decided to sit down and play the Mass Effect games. Unfortunately, I do not own an X-Box 360 anymore, so I have to start with Mass Effect 2. Fortunately, I have the Internet with which to get information on the first game.

There will be some spoilers.

Mass Effect

Using a combination of YouTube videos, wikis, and gaming forums, I had a somewhat detailed idea of the first game. It's also worth mentioning that I had about four to five hours of actual playing time before I sold my 360. So I'm not going in blind. Also, the developers of Mass Effect 2 are aware of the handicap of starting out with a sequel and have added an interactive backstory told in comic-book-like fashion at the opening of Mass Effect 2. This allows payers to broadly go through the first game in a few minutes and make the game-changing decisions required to further the story. Awesome.

In my game, I am a Vanguard Orphan. The main decision that actually weighed on me was the decision to save the rookie Kaidan over the bad-ass chick Ashley Williams. I thought it would be more interesting to make my guy a bit haunted, so I chose a decision that would actually bother me in real life. This has had the (mass?) effect of making my character somewhat touchy when it's brought up so far in the sequel.

In the end of Mass Effect, I chose to save The Council, as it seemed there should remain some form of government and leadership. I chose Anderson to be the human Councilman because he's Keith David.

I'll be adding some screenshots of my bad-ass Kain Shepherd character as well as updating on my progress through the story.

What I want to know from you guys who have played through the first one is your own memories from the game and what choices you made. Let me know.

We won’t see shit, but we’ll get the impression of the fight scene and everyone’s happy. Well, I don’t think so. I’m not a big fan of the way they film action in the Bourne films, or The Dark Knight for that matter."

Was going to put up some pictures, but they are all taken from my phone.

Anyhow, I've banged that Jack chick... now she won't talk to me. Also, I found some Krogan lab experiment and got him to join my crew.

Oh man, uhm - okay here's my choices I made with the character Harry S. Shepard whom I gave birth to in ME1 and played with all the way through ME2 and 3.

ME1:
- went full Renegade in ME1
- saved the Rachni Queen
- saved Wrex
- saved Ash
- banged Ash
- killed the fucking useless council
- made Saren shoot himself in the fucking face

ME2 (spoilers):
- again full Renegade
- saved the genophage cure
- killed Morinth
- banged Tali
- got everyone alive through the suicide mission
- did not blow up the Collector Base

ME3:
- regretted that I banged and saved Ash in ME1 because she's kind of an asshole.

Tali is BY FAR the best romance option, in my opinion. But Jack always intrigued me, kind of. She's like that hot emo chick you're sorta scared of

I actually know someone like that in real life. Probably could have banged her a couple times, but common sense prevailed.

Anyhow... who is Tali?

Just bought the first one on Steam, had been thinking off getting the second one on PS3 and skip the first, but decided to start with the first it as it was pretty cheap. So lets hope these games are as awesome as everyone says.

Beat Mass Effect 2. Very good. I lost a couple teammates in the suicide mission though. One was Jack, but since she'd become an unresponsive bitch after I banged her it's no real loss.

A few hours into part 3 and I'm really weirded out already.

First off, In my games Anderson was on the Council. Now he's apparently not. But the craziest thing is what they've done with the Normandy. It's like someone fucked with all my shit! Found most of my models in the lower levels and also my hamster. That was odd.

I hate the loading screens. In the second game they were intricate and provided something to look at, but now they're static and boring. Not sure how I feel about the weapon modding yet, but I'm getting used to it.

I liked mining and stuff. It was a relaxing break from all the crazy dark shit happening in the last game, and I'm kinda sad that's gone. But from what I understand, no one else liked it.

I was mad about Liara at first, because in my game she'd become the Shadow Broker, but they've explained what happened.

Oh, and Phil, I totally banged Tali as well (also Liara, Jack, and apparently Kelly Chambers).

Beat the third one. Loved the ending. I know there's a lot of bullshit whining going around about it... and I don't get it.

Well , other than it makes zero fucking sense to me and is a total contradiction to the entire franchise , I like the ending , too . By "like" , I mean everybody in EA should be fired for it .

See, I don't get that at all. It felt pretty organic to everything that had happened... at least in the third game.

Look , Kain , dude , I don't want to split hair here ... See "bookends of destruction - mass effect" on YouTube . The guy pretty much nailed everything that's wrong with it
